Office Politics and gossip happens when people think that they are not heard.

 

People always find a way to share their concerns. If they cannot do it openly, they will feel frustrated and will spread a negative message under the radar.

 

If you create an open channel where all people can freely and safely speak their mind, politics disappear. 

 

The Leader’s job is to create that channel, listen to the people and take care of their ideas, proposals and concerns. The boss doesn’t have to accept every input but has to explain why hasn’t been accepted.

You don’t have all the answers. Neither you know all that’s going on under your own ceiling. Invite your Workers to speak. Listen carefully. Don’t judge. You will be amazed by how much they can help your company grow and avoid problems.
